KEF KIDS Summer Camp (DRAFT)

/ Cambridgeshire

AHG have produced a masterplan proposal for the charity KEF KIDS, who provide activity camps for disabled children and young adults. Our proposals followed the brief to provide three campuses across the 73 acre site. This included separate accommodation campuses for 100 boys and 150 girls and young children, as well as a central campus with shared sports facilities with swimming pool, sports hall and playing fields.

The site has been carefully set out to focus built form within the natural dips of the site, while keeping buildings to a single storey to minimise visual impact in the rural location.

The accommodation blocks are laid out in courtyards to provide protected outdoor spaces for the children to play and explore safely. Each courtyard follows a similar planting style to maintain cohesion while focusing on a different sensory experience to provide a variety of learning and experiential spaces.
